Hi, it’s Zoe! π Sometimes kids call me different things like therapist, counsellor, kids therapist, play therapist… or just Zoe!
I know that the word “therapy” might sound a little strange, but I wanted to tell you a bit about me and what therapy is so you don’t have to worry before we meet.
A Little Bit About Me…
I was born in Greece! Maybe you’ve heard of itβit’s where the story of Zeus comes from! I love to go for hikes and spend time with my husband and our puppy, Pepper! She’s very energetic, curious, and likes to do things her own way! Maybe she reminds you of yourself or someone you know! I also really like being creative with art and doing puzzles!
I feel lucky to be a therapist because I love hearing about you, learning from you, cheering you on when things go well, and being there for you when things are tough.
So, What is Therapy?
When you come to see me, my job is to listen to you and try to understand how you see things.
Therapy is a special place where you can just be yourself. You can choose to play, draw, talk, or even just be quietβit’s up to you.
Kids come to see me for lots of different reasons:
- Maybe their family is going through a change, like parents deciding to live in different houses.
- Maybe they have really BIG feelings that are hard to handle.
- Maybe something really upsetting has happened.
- Maybe they’re having a hard time at school or at home, or they want to make more friends.
Whatever the reason, you are not in trouble for coming to see me.
Together, we will try to figure out what you need to feel better. I’m also here to help your parents understand how they can best support you too! Sometimes your parents might have a special time to talk with me so they can learn the best ways to help.
Letβs Get Started!
Our special time together is about 50 minutes long, and it’s just for you. It’s your choice to come and spend time with me, and we’ll use our time in a way that we both agree on.
If you would like to take a virtual tour of my special room and meet some of the toys, you can click the video below!
If you have any questions before we meet, please let your parents know!
Let’s be creative and playful! I am looking forward to welcoming you soon!
